DUBAI: Saudi Arabia’s budget airline, flyadeal, has introduced travel insurance packages in partnership with leading insurer Tawuniya, offering coverage from as low as SAR12 ($3).

The move aligns with the airline’s broader expansion strategy, which includes launching new routes and adding more aircraft to its growing fleet.

The newly introduced travel insurance provides essential protection against medical emergencies, trip cancellations, flight delays, baggage loss, and personal accidents. Priced at SAR12 for a single trip and SAR19 for a round trip, the insurance is designed to offer affordable coverage tailored to passenger needs.

Abdullah Adel Alahmadi, flyadeal’s Ancillary Product Manager, highlighted the importance of accessible travel protection: “Many assume travel insurance is expensive, but we’re making it both affordable and practical. Through our partnership with Tawuniya, passengers can secure peace of mind for as little as SAR12 per trip.”

This initiative is part of flyadeal’s growing suite of services, including Hold Fare, which locks in ticket prices for 24 hours, and Adeal Membership, an annual travel plan offering fixed monthly ticket rates.

New summer destinations

Flyadeal continues to strengthen its presence in Saudi Arabia and beyond. The airline recently launched new domestic routes connecting Dammam with Tabuk, Najran, and Yanbu, along with international flights from Riyadh and Jeddah to Amman, Jordan, and Karachi, Pakistan.

With the summer travel season approaching, the airline is also reinstating five popular seasonal destinations while adding Salalah, Oman, to its network for the first time. From 19 June 2025, flyadeal will resume flights to:

  • Trabzon, Turkey
  • Baku, Azerbaijan
  • Tbilisi, Georgia
  • Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
  • Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Salalah, Oman (new addition)

Future plans

Founded just seven years ago, flyadeal has rapidly expanded, now operating over 30 routes across Saudi Arabia, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. Its fleet of 37 Airbus A320 aircraft serves passengers from key hubs in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.

In May 2024, the airline placed its largest-ever aircraft order—51 new Airbus planes, including 12 A320neos and 39 larger A321neos—set for delivery starting in 2026. By 2030, flyadeal aims to triple its network, operating over 100 destinations with a significantly larger fleet.
